This is going to sound a little self-serving, but today, I’m giving thanks for swag. Swag can mean different things, but, in my world, swag consists of the promotional items that companies give away at events like the Mixed Conference that Beth and I attended this past weekend.
I love going to conferences, trade shows, media events, etc. You get to interact with a variety of people in your field, meet some celebs from time to time, and connect with product manufacturers and representatives. These companies jockey for positioning, sponsoring these events at various levels in an effort to advance their business in the eyes of attendees and, in particular, the media. It’s all about expanding reach.
Sometimes, in your swag bag, you get pens or notepads with product names on them, but the best is when you actually get the product to try out. This weekend, we got a number of different products that we are happy to try out. I’m curious about the rye crackers, but am excited about using the graham crackers to make my pumpkin cheesecake. YUM!!
Do you go to events for the swag? What’s the best swag that you’ve ever received? Leave me a comment and make sure you follow along and see what else I’m giving thanks for.

Yes, I absolutely agree! I so appreciate swag, I use every single bit of it and pass it on to others as well. This is some of the best/most memorable swag I’ve received: http://www.supercoupongirl.com/summer-adventures-what-happens-when-super-coupon-girl-attends-a-blog-conference/
