Today, I’m giving thanks for the season. Fall is probably my favorite season. Living in Central Virginia, in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the brilliance of the changing leaves can be breathtaking. Gradually, the nights turn cooler while the days become more temperate. Outdoor activity is much more inviting without the stifling heat of the summer or the numbing cold of the deep winter. You might feel a cool nip in the breeze, but a light jacket is all it takes to beat that.
The kids are finally settled into school and the routines of the school year and firmly in place. Any attempt that you had at dieting throughout the year is forgotten as you look forward to the abundance of the holiday meals and succumb to the obligatory offerings of baked treats as the year comes to an end.
Personally, I feel a sense of peace as another year comes to a close and as I look forward to what the next year has to offer.
Do you find yourself giving thanks for the season? What is your favorite season and why? Make sure you follow along and see what else I’m giving thanks for.
