I do a lot of cooking, so, naturally, I’m eventually going to end up with a favorite cooking vessel. Since I am focusing on soups and stews right now, my absolute favorite is my Le Creuset 3.5 Quart Dutch Oven.
Made of enameled cast-iron, this is the workhorse of my cookware collection. It heats up relatively quickly, but maintains that heat for a long time. For one pot cooking for a family of five, it’s really tough to beat. My Le Creuset 3.5 Quart Dutch Oven is perfect for starting something on the stove, braising in the oven, and going straight to the table to serve. I have been to many a potluck with it and, once the lid is on, it keeps food hot for much longer than the drive over.
I’ve had my Le Creuset 3.5 Quart Dutch Oven for about 8 years now and it has outlasted at least two other pots that I used for similar stove-top purposes. Maintenance couldn’t be easier. The enamel coating can take the scraping that non-stick pots cannot, which means that you can get that beautiful browning action without having to worry about whether or not your pot will come clean.
